Don’ts of moving no one tells you

  • Link Copied

Moving is nothing lesser than ‘Hunger Games’. Certain things that we were doing religiously last time, would be turned down as ‘utter vein’ this time.

Fighting for boxes if we don’t own some isn’t a stunt that’s necessary. I found an online store that sells used boxes and moving supplies carrying cheaper price tags.

Note: Grocery stores are right there for us. They knew us pretty well, so we can request for the boxes.

Moving supplies.

We would never be able to say when those small boxes would be in demand. People would never tell you, how far shoe boxes would be of help.

Nobody would ever let us know how important it’s to buy moving kits. They aren’t waste of money, but saves loads of trouble. They’re quite eco-friendly and cheap.

Wrinkled skirts don’t look good, and it’s a common sense to buy wardrobe that comes along with the rest of the shipping boxes.

Heavier the load, smaller/medium goes the boxes—especially books and electric gadgets fit into them quite well.

Lighter loads get into bigger ones. All these big boxes aren’t that mighty to hold heavier packages. Of course, shipping companies offer packing materials, but we might need some more of our own.

Worn out blankets make amazing wraps. Rather than frowning at them, it’s good to store them for a while, until we find our dream home.

Reviews are reviews.

I pick the movers either by word of mouth or reviews. Sparing the testimonial part, I run through the rating and personal views. I found that movingscam.com is a fair one. Not every container service gets thumbs up in this place.

I also found that it’s a prudent thing to find a mover, who knew the neighborhood better. For instance, moving during winter might fetch us houses at moderate price tags, but we would end up paying for the         transit.

Someone familiar with the onset of slush and road blocks save a lot of pain.

On one’s own.

I knew that friends are part and parcel of such a hunt, but it does worth our time. Taking half a day off would do.

Then,

Clutterfoot-in-mouth
