Wanting to live on your own and sharing a room with a #roommate might sound fun. But it’s a challenging task. A task that needs a lot of adjustments from both you and your roommate. Starting from family background to ideologies, you and your roommate are different. So you must learn to cope with the various challenges of having a roommate. Here’s How To Be A Good Roommate

Respect Privacy

Although you may share a lot of things with your roommate (not to mention the room itself) you still owe your roommate their own privacy. Know your boundaries. Balance between your concern over your roommate and being nosey.

How to Find Good Roommates

Money Matters

When it comes to money matters, like paying bills or buying supplies, make sure you pay up on time. Nothing is more irritating for a roommate than to have to beg for your portion of the room rent. Make sure you are never the cause for a roommate clash.

Communication

Your roommate might want to talk to you about something that they are going through. Be there for them when they need you. Also make sure you are honest with what you have to say to your roommate. Be it about their behavior or about yourself.

Be firm on what's important

Adjusting with your roommate is important. But you won't be a good roommate if you choose to compromise on things that matter to you. Be firm on what is important and be flexible with things that are bendable.
