Maximizing your rental space – Bathrooms

  • Link Copied

Are you living in a student apartment that has a small bathroom? Not every cost effective rental accommodation has an XL sized bathroom with a hot tub! Living in a shared accommodation further complicates the problem. Every person sharing the room will leave their restroom belongings lying around in the same space and it can feel even more congested! Here are a few simple steps to maximize the available bathroom space:

Clean ‘n organize

You cannot renovate your rental space to liberate more space! But you can always find ways to organize to extract the best out of your tiny bathroom. Leaving things lying around on the floor or anywhere else on the bathroom can definitely increase the sense of claustrophobia. Keep it clean and tidy gives it more sense of space. Also, attend to leaks and other small repairs that render a portion of the bathroom unusable. These simple things can make a huge difference!

Smart Décor is the key!

Your bathroom should have smart décor instead of fancy ones when space is at a premium.

Opt for closed toiletries closet instead of an open one, find a corner stand for dry towels and avoid cramping the place with buckets if you have a shower. All these little things will add up and liberate more space and give you a sense of freedom to move about in the bathroom.

Use the hidden spaces

We often overlook places beneath the sink or under the counter. Waste bins can be kept in such places that are out of sight but still accessible. Toilet cleaning brushes and liquids can also be stack away in such corners.

Feeling compelled to make more space? Add some simple shelves or even a rack to get more things onto the walls instead of restricting your movement.
